BTEC Qualifications

BTEC qualifications are suitable for a wide range of learners. They offer an alternative to more traditional qualifications, combining academic and vocational methods of learning.

The BTEC in Sporting Excellence and Performance helps you to better understand the knowledge, skills and behaviours of an effective professional sports performer. You will apply academic theories to situations in football so you can understand the impact of them on your career as a footballer.

The courses offered will give you the opportunity to complete assignments and activities based on realistic situations linked to working environments. You will complete a range of different assessments that include; written reports, presentations, practical activities, projects and verbal interviews. There are no exams on these qualifications.

Expectations of Apprentices

BTEC courses are demanding. To succeed, you need to:

  • Have high standards and expectations of yourself – targets are there to be reached and exceeded.
  • Have excellent attendance and always be punctual to lessons.
  • Listen to your tutors.
  • Be prepared to work independently to complete your assignments.
  • Manage your time in and out of lessons effectively.
  • Avoid any form of plagiarism in coursework and reference sources correctly.
  • Treat everyone politely, with courtesy and respect.
  • Apply yourself with total commitment to all of your courses.
  • Submit all coursework on time.
  • Ask for advice and help.
