Learner Transition

League Football Education wants more for learners than successful achievement of the study programme – we want to create successful people.

Those who embrace personal development as well as alternative interests, employment, education or training, equip themselves to excel as football players and for life off the pitch. Our transition strategy aims to provide life skills, information, advice, guidance, support and opportunities to contribute to personal growth.

Thinking about studying for a degree?

You may now be starting to think for the first time about developing yourself as more than a footballer. This process in itself is quite daunting but if you are thinking of or considering going to university and making the step into higher education, it is important to explore how your studies may fit into your long term personal development and career aims.

USA Scholarships

LFE has partnered with 219 Sports to offer study programme learners a pathway to study for a degree in the United States while continuing their sporting ambitions. Founded by former student‑athletes, 219 Sports provides expert guidance to help young people secure scholarship opportunities across the U.S.

This partnership gives learners access to specialist support, clear pathways, and high‑quality opportunities to pursue football scholarships abroad. As student‑athletes, they will benefit from top‑level coaching, higher education, and the chance to live and compete in a professional environment – supporting their academic, athletic, and personal development.

Coaching Abroad

Have you ever thought about working abroad for the summer? There are several organisations you can do this with, Challenger Sports is just one of them. Challenger originated as a British-led group in North America, delivering high-quality soccer camps to youth players of all ages and ability levels. Today, they partner with thousands of clubs and organisations every year, offering camps, year-round development options, tours, tournaments and coach education.

Summer camps offer the chance to meet new people, experience the culture of the U.S. and Canada, and gain valuable skills that come from working abroad. Coaches receive full training to deliver a week‑long camp curriculum and collaborate with other talented staff to create an enjoyable and rewarding experience for participants and for the next generation of young players.

Playing Outside of the UK

Pro Player Pathways offers a unique opportunity for talented footballers to combine higher education courses with professional football opportunities around the world. Through an extensive network of global contacts, Pro Player Pathways can open doors to first-team football environments in Canada, the United States, Ireland, Europe, the UAE, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, all while continuing to work towards a qualification.

Xello

LFE recognises that there are a number of pathways learners want to take post-study programme, and we want to ensure that all possible information is made available. In order to do this, LFE has invested in the online career support tool Xello. This houses up to date information, as well as video testimonials, on all major employment sectors, with an extensive range of job roles and requirements explained.

Opportunities

LFE has built strong partnerships with a variety of organisations – from employers in some of the UK’s primary industry sectors to leading universities. LFE are consistently trying to further improve these relationships to provide more opportunities for learners past and present.
