Assessment Trials
LFE runs Assessment Trials each year, giving apprentice footballers and first-year professionals released by clubs a valuable chance to showcase their ability and attract new opportunities across the game.
PDP Preparation Programme
All LFE apprentices are eligible to attend the Premier League & LFE PDP Preparation Programme. This residential four-day programme provides an elite training experience where players benefit from a range of personal development and transition support. Information about the programme is sent out by email direct to players towards the end of the season.
FUTURES Tour
FUTURES – a partnership between League Football Education (LFE), the English Football League (EFL) and the Premier League (PL) – offers released academy graduates the opportunity to take part in a unique development and showcase programme in Tampa, Florida. Participants train in professional environments at the Tampa Bay Rowdies facilities, compete in the prestigious USL Academy Cup at IMG Academy, and gain first-hand experience of the US soccer pathway.
The programme also provides valuable exposure to college scouts, professional clubs and league executives, creating opportunities for scholarships, professional contracts and future careers in the game.
Playing Outside of the UK
Pro Player Pathways offers a unique opportunity for talented footballers to combine higher education courses with professional football opportunities around the world. Through an extensive network of global contacts, Pro Player Pathways can open doors to first-team football environments in Canada, the United States, Ireland, Europe, the UAE, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, all while continuing to work towards a qualification.
