Students have received recognition for their excellent academic progress and positive contribution at their respective FCC’s by making the shortlist for LFE’s Learner of the Term for September – December.

Sophie Jones – Wigan Athletic
Sophie Jones of Wigan Athletic’s FCC is the runner-up of LFE’s Learner of the Term award for the September – December term.
Catherine King, Football & Education Tutor at the Club’s FCC, detailed why Sophie was nominated.
“Sophie is an absolute pleasure to teach and is a highly conscientious student who takes great pride in her work. She consistently strives to achieve her best and is a real credit to herself and the FCC. Sophie demonstrates a positive attitude and approaches every task with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to learn and develop, both inside and outside the classroom.
“She is an independent learner and thinker who ensures all work is completed to an exceptional standard. Currently working at distinction level, Sophie combines academic excellence with a fantastic personality. She has built strong relationships within a classroom that initially presented challenges, showing resilience and adaptability. Despite joining the programme without prior friendships, Sophie has embraced the programme’s ethos wholeheartedly, maintaining 100% attendance and serving as a perfect role model for others.
